WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Trumbull County judge sentenced a man to five years of supervised probation for a chase with Niles police officers.

Timothy White, 44, pleaded guilty in February to charges of assault of a police officer and attempted aggravated possession of drugs, both fourth-degree felonies.

The case against White stemmed from a May 19, 2023, chase with Niles police officers where White reportedly kicked at an officer after being stopped in the area of South Main and McKees Lane in Niles, according to a news release from the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors say White was found with 3.23 grams of a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

As part of his sentence, White was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community service, pay court costs and have no contact with the victim. He received his sentence on Wednesday.
