Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Leads Upcoming Events
Aug. 2 - Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (at Fasig-Tipton) The Museum will induct the 2024 Hall of Fame class at Fasig-Tipton. The 2024 class is comprised of racehorses Aristides, Gun Runner , Justify , and Lecomte; jockeys Abe Hawkins and Joel Rosario; and Pillars of the Turf Harry F. Guggenheim, Clement L. Hirsch, and Joe Hirsch. Tom Durkin will serve as master of ceremonies.
NY: Governor Hochul Announces Opening of PUSH Buffalo’s First Green Jobs Training Center
Governor Kathy Hochul announced a ribbon cutting marking the official opening of the Sustainability Workforce Training Center, the region’s first green job training center, on the West Side of Buffalo. The 2,500-square-foot facility – a project of PUSH Buffalo and Buffalo Neighborhood Stabilization Company (BNSC), and primarily funded by New York State grants – is a major investment for the West Side community and green workforce development.

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — The inaugural Lanesborough Day will celebrate the small town and offer a chance for residents to get-together under the new pavilion. A morning earthquake shook parts of Upstate New York. Did you feel it? It struck just north of the Adirondack Mountains over the Canadian border. There have been more than 550 earthquakes in New York State. The first one struck the New York City area on December 18, 1737, with a magnitude of 5.2. The Oak Ridge Boys, the legendary country / gospel band, have had a tough 2023 and 2024. Longtime members Duane Allen, who joined in 1966; William Lee, who joined in 1965; and Richard Sterban, who joined in 1972, were set to celebrate 50 years of performing together with Joe Bonsall, who joined in 1973. Unfortunately late last year Bonsall had to leave behind his touring days and begin his well-deserved retirement. He sadly died earlier this summer, but his memories live on thanks to the enthralling music he and the Boys created over the years.
