Riverside County Deputies Arrest Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run of a Pedestrian on State Street in San Jacinto
July 29, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 5:08 p.m., deputies assigned to. the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to State Street, south of Esplanade Avenue, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a major injury traffic collision involving a pedestrian. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a subject on the shoulder of the road with severe injuries. Deputies rendered medical aid to the subject until the arrival of Hemet Fire, who took over life-saving measures. The pedestrian ultimately succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene immediately after the collision. The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The pedestrian’s identity will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.
