Southern California PBS channel KCET dominated the 76th Los Angeles-area Emmy Awards, winning 10, including several for shows focusing on the local art scene. Veteran journalist Sam Rubin, who died May 10th, was honored with a posthumous Governors Award, recognizing his legacy of more than three decades of entertainment news reporting for KTLA5. Rubin also won an award for Best Entertainment News Story for his coverage of the 118-day SAG-AFTRA Strike in 2023.

13 motorcyclists arrested after short pursuit in Riverside County
More than a dozen motorcyclists were arrested in Temecula on Saturday after they allegedly led deputies on a brief pursuit. It happened at around 1 p.m., when deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Southwest Station were patrolling near Rancho California Road and Diaz Road and spotted a large group of motorcyclists, according to a statement from the department. The Riverside County Vector Control Program, acting to promptly address the infestation, has decided to deploy ground sprayers in an early morning operation aimed at reducing the adult mosquito population.
