Josh Pate made a prediction about which two teams could begin dominating the SEC on a recent edition of Late Kick Live .

In recent years, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs have been dominant forces in the conference. Alabama won its 30th conference title last season, and Georgia won the College Football Playoff in 2022 and 2023.

However, Pate predicted that the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners could be next up.

"...I think there's a world where if Texas and Oklahoma dominate the SEC. I mean be a 10-win per year caliber program. If Texas A&M also fit that description. Arkansas, I would love for you guys to come along and make this a nice quartet, but if just those three programs were sustained winners, think about what it would feel like in the SEC."

Texas is fresh off of a trip to the playoff in 2023 and won the Big 12 in its final season in the conference. Oklahoma won 10 games last season and made an appearance in the Alamo Bowl.

Texas opens its first season in the SEC with the Colorado State Rams on Aug. 31. Oklahoma's first game as a member of the SEC will be against the Temple Owls on Aug. 30.
