Pet show in Bowling Green is the cat's meow
BOWING GREEN — The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 63rd annual pet show on the Needle Hall stage at City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave., at 7 p.m. July 10. Pet enthusiasts are invited to participate and showcase their animals. Participants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Categories for judging include best groomed, most unusual, shaggiest, best dressed pet, biggest rodent, largest and smallest dog, slimiest reptile, and bird that tweets/talks the loudest. Wood County Museum tells local history, hosts Free First Friday event
BOWLING GREEN — Make-your-own USA-themed sunglasses were the featured craft on Friday as the Wood County Museum hosted its monthly Free First Friday and Make-and-Take Craft event. The Wood County Museum offers free admission and craft-making to all visitors on the first Friday of each month. Admission is usually $7, or $6 for seniors and students and $3 for children. The monthly affair runs thanks to partnerships with Visit BG Ohio, Visit Perrysburg, and the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau. This is the first year the museum has collaborated on events with cities from across Wood County. “We've had some that have started coming out every first Friday to see what the craft is,” said Annette Wells, director of the museum. “So we do get recurring people.”

BOWLING GREEN — The Wood County Museum will hold a free concert July 11, starting at 6 p.m. Music at the Museum will be held on the east wing porch of the County Home building at 13660 County Home Rd. Nikki “D” & the Browns a.k.a Sisters of Thunder will perform at 6, followed by Distant Cousinz at 7:30 p.m. Concert-goers may bring chairs or blankets for lawn seating. TIFFIN — The Wizard of Oz will be the curtain call for the Tiffin-based Ritz Players’ 40th anniversary season. From Rumors to Steel Magnolias, each of this season’s productions have been encore shows of plays or musicals that the Ritz Players put on sometime in the last four decades. It’s not just audiences who remember the hits. Ritz Players board member and Tiffin youth services librarian Joan Ledwedge is tracking down each former cast member, inviting them to an after-show party to reminisce about their time in the Players.
