Riker Hill Elementary School Principal Justin Toomey Announces Resignation
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Riker Hill Elementary School principal Justin Toomey has announced that he will be resigning from his position after five years of service to Livingston Public Schools (LPS). June 26, 1920 – Lou Gehrig gets his first national mention when, as a high school junior for New York City’s School of Commerce, he steals the show in a high school championship game against Lane Tech in Chicago at Wrigley Field . The game was played in front of a crowd of more than 10,000 spectators. His grand slam home run, only the 19th ever hit in the ballpark, in the 8th gave the New York team a 12 – 8 victory. Record Number of Livingston Students Accepted to Region and All State Chorus
LIVINGSTON, NJ — During the 2023-2024 school year, the Livingston High School (LHS) Choir Program had a record number of singers accepted into the New Jersey Music Educators Association’s (NJMEA) Region (23) and All-State Chorus (14). These students competed via audition against singers from all over the North Jersey region, as well as the entire state, to gain admittance into these prestigious ensembles. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop’s proposal for placing a two percent cap on tuitions at public colleges is now being considered by the New Jersey Legislature. “Just like when he was the first to call for extending the Corporate Business Tax to fund NJ TRANSIT, or when major aspects of his Housing Policy were included in the state’s recent housing legislation, or when he became among the very first elected officials in the state to call for the end of the corrupt county line system, Mayor Fulop is once again driving the policy discussion in New Jersey with his plan for annual caps on public college tuition,” Fulop for Governor spokesperson Ashley Manz said in a statement.
