Parkersburg Utility Board approves pool sewer credit policy
PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg Utility Board customers will soon be able to get a credit on their sewer bills for filling swimming pools. The board voted 4-0, with one seat vacant, Tuesday morning to approve a policy that will allow owners of private, residential pools with a capacity of at least 2,000 gallons to get a once-a-year credit on their sewer bill for the water used to fill the pool.
Look Back: Study on Shaw concludes
Excerpts from the writings of Stephen Chester Shaw, who came to Parkersburg and Wood County in 1826, and in 1876 wrote “Sketches of North-Western Virginia” continues. In the last segment, Shaw identifies a few of the emigrants who in December of 1785, built a blockhouse at Belleville, in what would become Wood County. In the Spring of 1786 more arrived. BELPRE, OH. (WTAP) - The ice cream social run by Belpre High School Alumni Association social had several vendors, live music and also a car show. According to an organizer at the social, the number of cars was over double last year’s total amount. Around 80 cars were said to have shown for the event.
