Ohio River Sternwheel Festival going without craft vendors this year
MARIETTA — The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival announced Monday that it will not have craft vendors at this year’s festival. “The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival 2024 will be taking a step back to review and enhance our craft vendor area, to ensure we provide the best experience possible for all attendees,” a Monday festival Facebook post said. “As part of this process, we have decided to take a break from hosting craft vendors during the 2024 Festival. This pause will allow us to carefully evaluate and explore new options that will enhance the overall festival experience.
YMCA keeping hours, rentals same as it takes over Parkersburg pools
PARKERSBURG — The YMCA of Parkersburg doesn’t plan a lot of schedule changes now that it’s managing the pools at City and Southwood parks. The City of Parkersburg terminated its contract with Maryland-based USA Management on Sunday. An announcement on the city’s Facebook page did not offer a specific reason, although Mayor Tom Joyce said in that statement that city officials look forward “to improved communication, timely opening and closing and appreciate any additional programming the YMCA can provide for their members and the community.”
