North Plainfield Youth Sports Association Raises $2500 at Golf Outing

CLINTON, NJ - The North Plainfield Youth Sports Association (NPYSA) held its 29th annual golf outing at Beaver Brook Country Club in memory of Tony Di Fabio, Jim Durick, Ralph Cammarota, and Dennis Passe, all of whom were instrumental in creating the NPYSA and had volunteered with the organization for many years.

“We had good weather, and an excellent turn out, Joe Pisaniello, the event organizer and chairman of NPYSA said.. "We enjoy holding this event each year and we are proud to have it honor the memories of Tony, Jim, Ralph, and Dennis. Those guys were absolutely dedicated to the mission of Youth Sports and over the years they were able to grow the organization and pass along their own love of sports, athletics, and sportsmanship to many kids from North Plainfield."

This year, the outing had 118 golfers and raised over $2,500 which will be used for boys travel baseball and girls travel softball teams from 3rd grade to high school,  equipment, including bats, balls, helmets, and catchers equipment, uniforms, umpire's fees, and offsetting registration fees.. Last year's outing allowed NPYSA to purchase AED equipment for all teams and paid for all coaches to be trained in CPR and on the use of the AEDs. The AED equipment now travels with each coach from game to game and to all practices and clinics.

Since its founding in 1980, the nonprofit, all volunteer NPYSA has provided the opportunity for several generations of the Borough's youth to become involved with various sports and has supplemented the town's other recreational program.
