South Street Pickleball Courts Too Crowded, Players Encouraged to Find Other Venues, Not Takeover Basketball Courts
On weekends so many pickleball players are holding court at the South Street Mall, that organizers are asking players to seek out other venues to play. In a JP Pickleball Facebook page post, the popularity of the South Street pickleball courts was applauded. There’s a lot of fun, and a lot of laughter. But the courts are too crowded:

Walton’s post player profile wasn’t shabby by any means. A great scorer and an uncanny ability to be a significant playmaker from the block. Something that we’ve only seen a couple of times. Bill Russell before him, Hakeem Olajuwon at the same time as Walton and Nikola Jokic today.
Five Crimson Women’s Rugby U20 Athletes Participate in Transatlantic Quad Series
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– Harvard women's rugby will have five athletes compete in Cardiff for the first ever Women's U20 Transatlantic Quad Series. Four athletes will represent the United States: Lennox London , Courtney Taylor , and Skylar Jordan , and Neasa McLaughlin (reserve). Ava Ference will join team Canada. London and Jordan are both sophomores who contributed to the success of the 15s season last fall. Pat Kavanagh injury: Cannons rookie moved to injured reserve
The Boston Cannons on Wednesday announced they had placed attackman Pat Kavanagh moved to injured reserve retroactive to June 25. Kavanagh has been battling a right groin strain and left toe injury that prevented him from traveling to Minneapolis last weekend in the Cannons’ fourth game of the season. Wellesley's Michael Li made three a magic number at the 2024 New England Junior Tennis Championships. He won the boys 14 & under division title as the No. 3 seed Tuesday at Amherst College, beating No. 1 seed Joshua Chen of Lexington in the final. Li was a finalist in 2022 in the boys 12 and under tournament. His victory earned him an automatic spot in the Level 2 Northeast Team Cup at the end of July. Every age group champion will be honored at the Hall of Fame Open in Newport, Rhode Island, in July.
Boston College Lacrosse Players Named to U20 National Team for 2024 World Championship
Four Boston College women's lacrosse players have been selected to the U.S. Women’s U20 National Team, joining 18 other players on the roster. The chosen players include midfielder Shea Baker, goalkeeper Shea Dolce, attacker Emma LoPinto, and midfielder/defense Lydia Colasante. Baker and Dolce are rising juniors, while LoPinto is a rising senior, and Colasante is a rising sophomore.
