It's not all sirens and serious faces at East Boston's District A-7 police station. Recently, officers exchanged their regular duties for a day of community engagement, hosting youngsters from Little Adventures and La Vaca Lola daycare centers. Robert Monteiro, 40, faced judgment yesterday and now awaits sentencing set for October 24, 2024, as reported by The U.S. Attorney’s Office. Monteiro's conviction is one of several linked to a larger drug trafficking operation intercepted by federal and local law enforcement agencies.
New England coast to be smacked by whipping winds, gnarly waves as storm approaches region
The FOX Forecast Center is keeping its eyes on an area of low pressure off the East Coast of the U.S. that’s expected to approach New England as we close out the weekend, bringing the risk of strong winds, rough surf and precipitation that could ruin beach plans across the region.
Mass. Lottery’s Biggest Prize Winner Ever
What's the most amount of money you'll part with for a scratch ticket? Massachusetts has offered a $50 instant ticket for about 18 months now, but I've only purchased one. Scratch tickets are a great gift idea for gambling enthusiasts and are super fun to receive as well, but we all know Powerball is where the big money is at.
From Newton, Massachusetts, to Scranton: John Krasinski and B.J. Novak Together for Decades
There are so many actors from New England who have made it big. From Adam Sandler to Seth Myers, Sarah Silverman, Dan Brown, Stephen King, Mandy Moore, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Rachel Dratch, the list goes on and on. I have to think, however, that The Office deserves a Dundee Award for the most cast members from Massachusetts. Two of them are even from the same city.

Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird hangs 24 points on the Atlanta Hawks in just one quarter
Sometimes in the retelling of the history of the Boston Celtics during the prime years of franchise icon Larry Bird, what gets lost is the ability of the Hick From French Lick (as he was sometimes called) to put points on the board at will. A classic example of his...
How Boston's bid for 2024 Summer Olympics flamed out in 2015
BOSTON — What if the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympic Games was a boat parade down the Charles River in Boston instead of the River Seine in Paris? For a few months in 2015, it looked possible, but the bid to bring the Olympic flame to Massachusetts burned out in spectacular fashion.

Boston College Football 2024: Freshman on Defense Preview
Quality over quantity. That’s the mantra of this recruiting class. With all the turmoil of BC’s late stage coaching transition and the college football transfer portal writ large, we have ourselves a class primarily composed of kids that the current coach didn’t initially recruit. All of them, however, have stuck by and bought into what Bill O’Brien had to say to them. There is an opportunity here. It’s a big jump from high school to college, so as always there may not be much playing time this year (although there have been a number of exceptions for the Eagles these past few seasons), but glass half full the incoming freshmen may have more attention given and room to grow.
