A three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 85 near Lavonia caused damage and delays Tuesday, but no serious injuries were reported, according to officials.

Troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell responded to the wreck around mile marker 162 just before 3 p.m. on August 27. They say the wreck was the result of a medical emergency.

According to the preliminary accident report, 57-year-old Timothy Allen of Alpharetta was driving north in a Chevy Suburban when he experienced an emergency. The Suburban ran off the road into the emergency lane, where it struck a Ford F-450, which was disabled. State troopers identified the driver of that vehicle as 50-year-old Bykov Bohdan of Lake Barrington, Illinois.

After striking the Ford, the Suburban overturned onto its side and traveled back onto the interstate, the report says. Debris from the Suburban then struck another Ford F-450 parked in the emergency lane, assisting the disabled pickup.

26-year-old Lutsiv Liubomyr of Ruskin, Florida, was in the second pickup. Troopers say neither he nor Bohdan were injured.

Allen sustained minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
