Saturday night was a race to remember a young man taken far too soon. Joshua Melton, a Triad High School graduate of 2022, found joy in working as a graphic designer, drifting, dirt track racing, and spending time with his friends. In March 2023, Joshua tragically lost his life in a car accident. To honor his memory, his family and friends have organized this race.

East Peoria teen wins national junior pool championship in St. Louis
But he picked up the game so fast he won a national title earlier this month. The East Peoria High School junior was crowned champion of his division at the 2024 American Pool Players Association National Junior Championships June 29-July 1 at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel in St. Louis.

GRANITE CITY – Celina Allen, who graduated from Granite City High School in 1989, has what many would consider a dream job in St. Louis. She’s in her 17th season working for the St. Louis Cardinals, and currently serves the ballclub as a Corporate Sales Assistant, Account Services Assistant, and is also coordinator for the team’s Spanish-language radio broadcasts, helping out Polo Ascencio and Bengie Molina, who call all home games on WIJR, 880 AM, in Highland, serving the area’s increasing Spanish-language population.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The O’Fallon Hoots looked to be holding the Cape Catfish’s offense to a standstill, Saturday night at Capaha. Then, the Hoots imploded. Leading 3-0 over their division rivals, O’Fallon let Cape load the bases up, with the Catfish scoring two runs via walks. 3-2. And then, things really fell apart.
