A 75-year-old man was killed Wednesday, July 3, when his motorcycle hit a pickup truck on state Highway 62 near Old Batley Road in Anderson County.

Killed in the crash was Connie West, a Tennessee resident. Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary reports on crashes do not give more specific addresses for people involved. West was wearing a helmet and riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The report stated that West was traveling west on Highway 62 at 10:43 a.m., as was Dewey Ruble, 84, who was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup truck. Lewanda Ruble, 77, was a passenger in the truck.

Ruble was making a left turn when the motorcycle struck the truck in the rear and then came to a rest on the left shoulder of the the westbound lane. The pickup truck came to a rest on the right shoulder of the eastbound lane.

The Rubles, Tennessee residents, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured, the report stated. Dewey Ruble was charged with driving on a revoked license.
