Madison, Wisconsin (July 31, 2024) – State Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) was presented with the “Friend of Grocers” award from the Wisconsin Grocers Association. The award was presented to Rep. Born at the Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly in Mayville on July 31st. The “Friend of Grocers” award is given to legislators who receive a five-star rating on the WGA Legislative Report Card – an extensive study of all legislators’ performance in the 2023-24 Legislative Session. Lawmakers are scored according to their actions on certain issues that are especially important to the grocery industry, including: personal property tax repeal, sales tax discount for retailers, alcohol reforms, electric vehicle legislation, and several other key business issues. Caleb Anderson, serving life for murder in Alabama, is convicted of Green Bay homicide
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A man from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has been found guilty of homicide in Wisconsin as well as Alabama. On Thursday, Caleb Anderson, 25, pleaded no contest in the killing of 65-year-old Patrick Ernst in 2022, changing the not-guilty plea he entered in March. A Brown County judge set sentencing for September 23.

RLHS students chosen as top winners in State Park Design Contest
Rice Lake High School students Evan Strand and Jehiel Josh De Los Santos were selected as the first and second place winners in the Wisconsin State Park and Forest vehicle admission sticker contest, the Wisconsin DNR announced Wednesday. Strand's sticker was chosen as the winning design, which will be printed on state park and forest vehicle admission stickers.
