Severe weather hits Wisconsin State Fair; fun continues, rain or shine
WEST ALLIS, Wis. - The 174th Wisconsin State Fair opened on Thursday, Aug. 1, with lots of fun – and some intense weather. Thursday was a beautiful start to the fair, but in the evening, things got a bit intense with thunderstorms. Rain and lightning sent people scrambling, and the State Fair advised attendees to seek shelter.

Strong Winds Cause Thousands Of Power Outages
DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A storm system that passed through portions of the region late Wednesday afternoon knocked out power for thousands of residents for a time. The National Weather Service in Duluth noted 56 mile per hour winds at their airport location around 5:30 and other areas also had strong winds knocking down tree branches and power lines.
