Gators Online Show: Behind the scenes from offseason workouts

Welcome to the Gators Online Show! For episode 93, co-hosts Zach Abolverdi and Nick de la Torre discuss Florida’s strength and conditioning program under new director of football strength & conditioning Tyler Miles.

The team started summer workouts on May 14. The “Regimen” phase is a nine-week training block to get players ready for fall camp. This week, Gators Online was granted a behind-the-scenes look at those workouts under Miles.

After opening the show with our reaction to the NCAA agreeing to share Revenue with athletes in a landmark $2.8 billion settlement, de la Torre delves into his all-access pass to Florida’s workouts and what he was able to witness.

He shares the standout performers in the weight room at a few positions as well as numbers on players who made the biggest gains and losses this offseason as far as body fat percentage, lean muscle, fat mass and weight.

We then discuss the arrest of Florida true freshman defensive lineman Michai Boireau. He spent two nights in the Monroe County Jail on charges that included fleeing, causing serious injury with a motor vehicle and marijuana possession.

We wrap up the show with Florida’s announcement that it will be wearing black uniforms vs. rival LSU at home this year. UF debuted the alternate jerseys last season against Arkansas.
