Auburn recruiting never sleeps. The 2025 class is full-go and we are in “turning point” season. Can the Tigers keep the ball rolling on the recruiting trail, though? They have to. I have three open RPM predictions logged for big Auburn targets. We will update each on how I am feeling about those picks as of today.

    Potential Picks

    — Auburn continues to be in good position to flip quarterback Deuce Knight from Notre Dame. As time goes on without a public announcement, the Irish will continue to keep him. Still, we think Auburn has done enough to make this happen soon. Putting in a pick for a recruitment like this would be difficult, but we still favor the Tigers at the moment.

    — The recruitment of five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola is going to come to a close soon. Auburn is right in the thick of it with Michigan and Stanford. We believe Michigan and Auburn stand in the top two at this time, but will never rule out Stanford. The relationships at Auburn are important and the prowess at Michigan both academically and from a football standpoint stands out. Again, this will be a tough one to pull the trigger on, but Auburn is in it and has been for a while.

    — Of the big three, Na’eem Offord is one I will have trouble putting in a pick for. However, the buzz around him has been positive for Auburn lately, and it would make sense to stay closer to home. That, of course, is no guarantee and teh Buckeyes are going to be tough to beat. Still, we continue to hear that things are picking up with Auburn and Offord.

    S – Zelus Hicks , Carrollton (Ga.)

    PICK : Auburn – 60% confidence, 7/12/24

    FEELING: NEUTRAL

WHY THE PICK WAS MADE : After talking to Hicks at the Under Armour Camp in Atlanta, we learned that a decision was coming soon, another visit to Auburn will happen before that, and the Charles Kelly addition was somewhat of a game changer. Combining all of those things lead us to believe Auburn is going to have a good shot at landing his early commitment.

NEW UPDATE : Hicks returned to Auburn for Big Cat Weekend. While there, he mentioned the possibility of reclassifying from 2026 to 2025. He also said that Auburn was pushing for him. For a while, I have been looking for another school to change my pick to. Right now, I’m not so sure it won’t be Auburn. My confidence in this pick is not high, but I want to start recognizing it again as Hicks will hold off from a commitment for a little while longer. I think that could be a good thing for Auburn.

LB – Tyler Lockhart , Winona (Miss.) Winona. Secondary School

    FEELING : GOOD

WHY THE PICK WAS MADE : I joined Auburn Live’s Jeffrey Lee on this pick. The Tigers certainly made a move with Lockhart and his family during their Big Cat visit–a visit that was eye-opening anyway. Lockhart has some pressure to stay in-state with Mississippi State and play with his brother. However, Auburn has done a great job here and has a real shot. If this recruitment continues to drag on, it may not be good for Auburn. However, at this time, we see Auburn as the leader.

WR – Sam Turner , Atlanta, Ga., Southwest Dekalb (Georgia Tech)

    FEELING: GREAT

WHY THE PICK WAS MADE : Turner was on our radar before the Big Cat visit. Before then, it was not clear if Auburn was going to push for him. After the Big Cat visit, it became more clear that Turner is a priority for Auburn. At this time, I think it is much more likely than not that the Tigers can flip Turner from Georgia Tech. A timeline is not known at this time.
