Michigan brought in several underclassmen targets from Ohio in late July for the annual BBQ at The Big House, including elite 2027 Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph (VASJ) tight end D’Angelo White .

The final weekend of last month was White’s second visit to Ann Arbor, and once again, it didn’t disappoint.

“The barbecue was amazing,” White told The Wolverine . “Being with the coaching staff more. It was nice. Looking at the facilities more. It was really a beautiful place.”

Michigan offered White while the incoming sophomore was on his first-ever visit in mid-June alongside VASJ teammates. White then met with tight ends coach Steve Casula , who ultimately pulled the trigger.

White was able to reconnect with Casula at the barbecue and running backs coach Tony Alford , who has long-standing recruiting ties in Cleveland.

“They were very good people,” White said. “Building a relationship with them so I could get to know them more, stuff like that. Very good people.”

White also got to workout in drills that Casula led and connected with U-M’s 2025 tight ends commits – Andrew Olesh and Eli Owens .

“I think they’re very good coaches,” White said. “They know how to coach. Overall, they’re just some good coaches. They do good things, good people.”

Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore also went out of his way to speak to White two weeks ago.

“He’s a very good dude,” White said. “He speaks about real things, what’s going on in the world, outside of football, things like that.”

As White becomes more familiar with the Wolverines, his impressions on how the reigning national champions utilize their tight ends in the offer are high, especially with how the position is featured in both the run and passing game.

“I like the way they use them,” White said. “They’re not just a blocking team. They’re very active with their tight ends. They’re versatile, things like that.”

Although White doesn’t a set date to make another visit, he would like to come back in-season and see The Big House with 110,000-plus fans in the stands.

“I’d like to return very soon so I can get down there for a game,” White said.

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, White is not yet listed on the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services.

Along with Michigan, White holds notable offers from Ohio State, Kentucky, Illinois, Cincinnati, Purdue, Indiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, and multiple MAC programs.
