The rivalry game between the Florida Gators and the Miami Hurricanes this Saturday continues to heat up ahead of kickoff in Gainesville. As Miami fans have only continued to add fuel to the fire ahead of game time in The Swamp.

Brad Tejeda of CanesInSight revealed Friday that the Hurricanes have already occupied Gainesville and marked their territory. With the city’s famous 34th Street wall receiving a paint job from Miami fans with some graffiti work reading ‘Drain The Swap’. Accompanied by Miami’s iconic ‘The U’ logos on each side of the message.

The Hurricanes will likely view the 34th Street makeover as a work of art, but Florida fans will disagree. Check out the graffiti message surrounding this weekend’s bitter in-state rivalry game below.

The 34th Street Wall was first built in 1979, a 1,120-foot-long retaining wall along SW 34th Street on Florida State Road 121 in Gainesville known for being entirely covered in graffiti. A staple of the city that has become a wall of expression and a public bulletin board that’s been used in a plethora of different ways over the years from art pieces to promoting public events by the city Gainesville and the University of Florida.

Nobody has ever been charged for painting on the 34th Street wall following several unsuccessful attempts to remove the graffiti in the 1980s. But some Gainesville residents who are Florida Gators fans may have some opposition to the wall’s latest addition.

Saturday’s game between the Hurricanes and Gators represents one of the premiere marquee matchups in Week 1 of the college football season. Earning a prime-time spot on ABC with a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff time at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. A game with extremely high stakes on the line for both programs ahead of a highly anticipated 2024 season.

The head coaches of both teams, Mario Cristobal and Bill Napier , were hired nearly a week apart in 2021 and have both posted back-to-back 3-5 seasons in conference play for their respective programs. Both seeking a signature win this Saturday to show promise of their team heading in the right direction and avoiding hot-seat conversations.

Miami has an impressive new-look roster and Florida has one of the toughest schedules in the country this season, setting the stage for an electric Week 1 matchup that fans in the Sunshine State are clearly ready for.
