    In recruiting?

Don’t miss our update on numerous top recruits that plan to be at the game on Saturday and where things stand with them heading into it.

Another update: Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca 2026 four-star running back Javian Mallory took a Wednesday visit to Miami and we have the latest going on with his recruitment.

And a visitor this weekend for the opener is Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day prospect DJ Williams, so don’t miss his thoughts heading into it.

Also visiting? IMG Academy four-star 2026 EDGE Jake Kreul, whose stock has skyrocketed over the last six months. He says Miami has worked its way into the mix.

We also catch up with top-100 WR prospect Naeem Burroughs, who is high on Miami and shares his thoughts on the Canes’ big opening win.

Former Alabama superstar and All-Pro Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick went through his college recruitment roughly a decade ago. MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Some arm chair thoughts about UF game … Posted by Fordjl

Great overall game. I will give some positives and some challenges.

    Positives

    1. The O line looked great. UF was playing a Bear front on a lot of snaps and we still pushed them back. The RB’s and the QB had time to toggle around in the backfield prior to contact.

    2. Wards demeanor and pocket presence is off the chart. The team takes on the personality of its leader and he stayed calm. Also he toyed with UF’s D line in the pocket.

    3. Harris played up to his athleticism.

    4. How deep the interior DL was. We knew that there were numbers at edge but the likes of Moten and Horton made us realize that the interior is deep also.

    5. OJ Fedrique is a stud. They simply didn’t throw his way. Who doesn’t test a freshman in his first start; someone that realized early in the game that he was a stud.

    Challenges

    1. Easily solved because it was the first game but we didn’t seem to manage the first half from the side lines. Blew 3 timeouts.

    2. Ward was a little off. First game rhythm issues I guess. He clearly showed that he was a stud.

    3. Special Teams was average at best.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0oKzD3_0vMm9CKY00
    [Doug Engle/Gainesville Sun]

“We treat every single game like it’s the championship. Every game, practice we are going to keep it on another notch. This whole team has the mindset to reset and get ready to go for another week. The job is not done. Everybody is getting ready, in the right mindset to attack this week.”
