One injured in Galesburg shooting incident
One person was injured as a result of a shooting incident in Galesburg. According to a press release, on July 6 at approximately 11:48 p.m., the Galesburg Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on S. Cherry St. Upon arrival, officers found a victim of a gunshot wound in the street. Officers provided lifesaving treatment until medical personnel could arrive. Area of Summer and Matthews Streets Closed for Gas Leak in Galesburg
A gas leak in Galesburg has closed the area of Summer and Matthews Streets. Buildings within a one-block area will be evacuated out of an abundance of caution. Barricades will be placed to keep traffic out of the area. Residents are advised to please avoid the area until the gas leak has been fixed, which may take several hours, possibly into the evening hours.
Orpheum Theatre goes on a ‘FUN-raising’ campaign
Galesburg’s Orpheum Theatre is hosting shows that its executive director says are designed to help bring in even bigger shows. Starting with Central Illinois Dueling Pianos later this month, the Orpheum is embarking on what it calls a “FUN-raiser”.
