Governor Ivey Welcomes Master Chef Junior Winner Bryson McGlynn to Governor’s Mansion

Montgomery, AL – Bryson McGlynn, the 12-year-old Opelika native who recently won the coveted Master Chef Junior title on Fox TV, received a personal invitation from Governor Kay Ivey to join her at the Governor’s Mansion. This special visit was not just an ordinary introductory meeting. Bryson showcased his culinary talents by crafting a delicious lunch menu for Governor Ivey and her friends.

The event began with Bryson introducing the first course, after which the group prayed over the food. Impressed by his skills, Governor Ivey proclaimed Bryson the “Chef for the Day” in the state of Alabama. The governor praised Bryson’s three-course meal, which concluded with an Auburn, Alabama-inspired peanut butter pie, expressing her admiration for his culinary prowess.

“It was truly my honor to have a lunch made by Bryson McGlynn, an Opelika celebrity. Not only did he whip up an excellent meal, he lit up the room with his infectious personality, really highlighting what it means to be an Alabamian. Alabamians have so much to offer the world, and Bryson certainly showed us that today. He is going places!” said Governor Ivey.

Governor Ivey also presented Bryson with a challenge coin and told him that his future is surely bright.
