Terrell Davis Outraged After Being Removed From United Airlines Flight In Handcuffs

Former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis prides himself on being an upstanding citizen with no history of run-ins with the law.

So when he was removed from a United Airlines flight from Denver to orange County, California, over the weekend in handcuffs, he didn’t take lightly to the negative light the situation portrayed him in.

“I demand a thorough and proper investigation into the flight attendant who blatantly lied and placed undo harm on me and my family,” Davis wrote in a statement on his Instagram page. “These lies and the ensuing events have the capacity to tarnish the reputation I have spent decades building, and this person should not be able to do this again to anyone in the future.”

Davis, a two-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Famer, alleges the incident began when his son requested a cup of ice during the beverage portion of the flight.

Believing his son’s request simply wasn’t heard, Davis says he calmly reached behind him to get the attendant’s attention, to which he shouted “don’t hit me” before making a beeline for the front of the plane.

Once the plane landed, Davis said he was placed in handcuffs and removed from the plane without any explanation as to why.

“FBI agents and local authorities proceeded directly to my seat and immediately placed me in handcuffs, while seated and without any explanation in front of my wife and children while the entire flight of passengers watched in silence,” Davis added. “I was then removed from the flight while being recorded by multiple passengers as I was paraded off the plane in handcuffs by the officers. I was — and remain — humiliated, embarrassed, powerless and angry.”
