Cyclist on 360 Mile Ride Thanks Rome, New York After Getting Caught in Tornado
A cyclist taking on his first bike tour got way more than he bargained for in more ways than one. Neal Carlson wanted to take an epic ride after reading a story in the New York Times in 2021. It stayed with him over the years and he decided this was the year he was going to try.

Max Gartzke went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs to lead Utica to a 5-2 win over Footville on Sunday, July 14, to clinch the Southeast Section South Division championship. Utica punched its ticket to the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Gartzke hit a go-ahead two-run triple in the bottom of the fourth inning to propel the Association to a comeback win at Utica Community Park. The Association was coming off an 11-1 loss to Jefferson in the Night League on Thursday, July 11, on the road.

Oneida Nation to Host Four World Lacrosse Box Championship Games
UTICA, N.Y. — World Lacrosse today announced that Turning Stone Resort Casino has joined the upcoming 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships as an Official Event Partner. As part of the partnership, the Mary C. Winder Community Center – Oneida Indian Nation’s new 90,000-square-foot community center – will host four games of the historic double world championship, which will feature the best men’s and women’s lacrosse athletes from around the globe. In addition, Turning Stone’s Exit 33 entertainment destination will be the site of the official post-championship celebration.
Utica University Pioneers to compete in first-ever NCAA Division III women's ice hockey tournament in Florida this Thanksgiving
The Utica University women's ice hockey team will join three other teams in Wesley Chapel, Florida for the first Sunshine Hockey Classic on November 29 & 30. It will be the first time NCAA Division III women's ice hockey is played in the state of Florida, and will include Norwich University, Trinity College, and Adrian College.
