TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is in critical condition after he was found unresponsive in a pool at Discovery Cove on Monday, according to officials.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Orlando theme park around 10 a.m. The man, who is in his 50s was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, authorities said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No other information was made available.

The incident comes just a few months after a 13-year-old girl tragically died after she was also found unresponsive in a pool at Discovery Cove.

The girl, Anna Beaumont, 13, was taken to the hospital in critical condition on May 28. She was pronounced dead a day later on May 29.

Discovery Cove is the sister park of SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando. The park allows guests to interact with a range of marine animals, including bottlenose dolphins.

A Discovery Cove spokesperson released the following statement to WFLA on Tuesday:

“Our staff responded to a medical emergency involving a guest yesterday morning. Our team provided care and contacted Orange County Fire & Rescue. When emergency personnel arrived, they took over care and transported the guest to a nearby hospital. Our thoughts are with this family, and out of respect for their privacy, we won’t be commenting further.”
