Update: The segment of County State Aid Highway 36 between Quilley Avenue NE and Rachele Avenue NE in Otsego that has been closed since Monday (June 24) will re-open in the next half hour (1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27) to traffic, the Wright County Highway Department announced. Flood water that had been covering the road surface has receded.

Highway maintenance crews will remove the barricades currently in place, but they will remain off to the side of the road with projections of more rain coming Friday and Monday. If the water level of the Crow River rises back onto the road surface, the barricades will be put back in place.

Wright County announced Monday, June 24, that a segment of County State Aid Highway 36, also known as 53rd Street Northeast, in Otsego is closed due to water on the roadway from the Crow River. The closure will remain in place until the water recedes, which was expected to be in a few days.

The closure is between the intersections at Quilley Avenue Northeast and Rachele Avenue Northeast. No detour is posted. The highway department will announce on the county’s website and social media channels when the road reopens.

In Elk River, Police Capt. Joe Gacke said Wednesday that no reports of flooding have come to the police department as of yet.

Sherburne County also has not received any reports of flooding.
