Staff and educators at Lima City Schools kick off the school year with some fun
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima City School educators and staff are ready to have fun as they gear up for the 2024-2025 school year. On Tuesday, it was a pep rally atmosphere at Lima Senior, as all of the school district staff were on hand for the school year kick-off. Besides the cheerleaders, band, and choir, nationally recognized speaker and author Jack Berckemeyer brought laughter to motivate the staff to have a great school year.

Temple Christian School commemorates new elementary building to the community
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - On Monday evening, Temple Christian School unveiled their new elementary building to the public ahead of the upcoming school year. Around 150 people came out to the facility located at 750 Brower Road in Lima. The 32,000 square-foot facility, formerly the Lima Manor, will house grades kindergarten through 5th grade and includes 16 classrooms, a complete kitchen and lunchroom, and additional office space. Over the past 5 years, Temple Christian has observed a 45% increase in the student population to a current enrollment of 360 students. As the elementary students move into the new building, school officials are ready to serve the growing number of students.
Findlay hosting regional Ohio Mayors Alliance meeting on Thursday

Education, housing, and public safety will top the list at the Ohio Mayors Alliance regional meeting hosted by Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn. Kids receive a warm welcome back with clap-in at Lima City Schools
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The crowd went wild as they clapped in the new school year this morning at Lima City Schools Unity Elementary School. Dozens of adults lined the hall as the students came in for their first day of school. The surprise and happiness could be seen on the children's faces as they entered the building to the fanfare. On hand were local officials, including Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith, safety services, community leaders, and parents.
