Public screening of documentary 'Activismo: Art and Dissidence in Cuba' to be held Aug. 14
The Findlay and Northwest Ohio public is invited to attend a special screening of the 45-minute, award-winning documentary, "Activismo: Art and Dissidence in Cuba," on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Alexandria' 's, 132 E. Crawford St., in Findlay. Organized by co-directors/producers Philip Sugden and Carole Elchert, the film features Cuban artists who use art as a form of activism and civic engagement for social change in Cuba.

Second Baptist Church celebrates end of debt with mortgage burning, new parking lot dedicated
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A local church announced they've paid off the mortgage on their building. Second Baptist Church celebrated with a mortgage burning on Sunday, a tradition that dates back to the early 1900s. They also dedicated their recently completed parking lot to long-time congregation members Earley and Doris Lawson. Many people have contributed to the projects, but the money the couple left the church in their will was a big help in paying for both. A new marker also dedicates the parking lot to them.
