Huskies fall to the Lakers on the road in season opener

The Owatonna girls soccer team kicked off its 2024 season on the road, as it faced off against the Lakers in Prior Lake.

The Huskies played Prior Lake early in the season last year, as well, losing to the Lakers by a score of 6-1. This year’s matchup was closer, but the Huskies still fell to the Lakers, 4-1.

The Huskies will look to rebound after the road loss, as they are set to take on the Mankato West Scarlets on Thursday night. The matchup against the Scarlets will take place at the Lincoln Soccer Fields in Owatonna, the Huskies’ first home game of the season. They will also play the Shakopee Sabers in Shakopee on Saturday for their third game of the week.
