IdeaTek expands to Ark City
ARKANSAS CITY, Kansas — Super-fast fiber internet service will soon be available to hundreds of Arkansas City families and businesses, thanks to IdeaTek. The Buhler-based internet company will begin construction in August. By fall, IdeaTek will begin delivering unlimited and uncapped speeds of up to 2.5 gigabits per second to the city’s first few neighborhoods. IdeaTek's 100-percent fiber investment of nearly $6 million will connect over 6,100 homes and businesses to fiber.

City of Wellington is accepting applications for Operator 1 – Park Department
The City of Wellington is accepting applications for the Operator 1 – Park Department position responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City parks and recreational grounds, aquatic center, and the Memorial Auditorium. Work involves performing various manual tasks, groundskeeping tasks, and operating various mechanical and power tools. Building maintenance tasks include limited plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work. Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s License and obtain, within six (6) months of employment, and maintain a valid Kansas Commercial Driver’s License. Salary range is $16.12 to $23.05 DOQ with benefits. Wellington Council turns down Land Bank’s request for $25,000 fund to assist with expenses
