Lane Kiffin claps back at Paul Finebaum's latest jabs

Move aside, Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Paul Finebaum and Lane Kiffin are the newest beef in town.

In a recent interview with Tulsa World's Berry Tramel, Finebaum took some blatant shots at the Ole Miss Rebels head coach.

"Everyone in the media, Berry, we're on the older statesman side of it, is in love with Lane Kiffin," Finebaum told Thamel. "They think he's hilarious. I don't think he's that funny. I don't think his tweets are that interesting."

On top of that, Finebaum went a step further, calling Kiffin's coaching "underwhelming at times."

Kiffin fittingly took to X for a response, keeping his comments much more light-hearted than Finebaum's jabs.

"Why so angry Paul?" Kiffin asked. "I think you’re funny. Also ⁦ @Vol_Baseball won the Natty!!! How can you be in such a bad mood??"

Finebaum may not be a fan of Kiffin, but the results at Ole Miss are starting to speak for themselves. The Rebels are coming off their first 11-win season in program history. After going 5-5 in his first season with the program, Kiffin has helped lead Ole Miss to a 29-10 record over the last three seasons.

Ole Miss could have an even bigger season in 2024. The SEC getting rid of its divisions opens up a path for the Rebels to play in the conference championship. Meanwhile, the program has the sixth-best odds at winning a national championship. That indicates that the team will have a very real chance at making it into the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

The return of Jaxson Dart along with an influx of talent from the transfer portal should give the Rebels a very real shot at making a national title run this year.

Kiffin will certainly have some kind of response to Finebaum if that happens.
