    Fall is finally in full swing, and there are plenty of fun events and festivals taking place all over the state of Georgia this month. These are the best, can’t-miss events that everyone will enjoy happening in Georgia this October.

    Gold Rush Days Festival

    Dahlonega, Georgia

    Event Dates: October 16, 2021 through October 17, 2021

    Each October, festival-goers can enjoy a parade, children’s activities, a fashion show, a gold panning, contest, wheelbarrow races, the King and Queen coronation, hog calling, a buck dancing contest, live music, wrist wrestling competitions, and festival food during this event dedicated to Dahlonega’s gold rush history.

    Georgia National Fair

    Perry, Georgia

    Event Dates: now through October 17, 2021

    You won’t want to miss this annual autumn fair featuring rides, concerts, agricultural exhibits, competitions, food stands, arts and crafts, horse shows, and fireworks each night. The Georgia National Fair takes place across 11 days at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter.

    Shaky Knees Music Festival

    Atlanta, Georgia

    Event Dates: October 22, 2021 through October 24, 2021

    This year’s Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta’s Central Park features over 60 bands with a diverse lineup ranging from world-renowned acts to up-and-coming artists. Headliners include Foo Fighters, Run The Jewels, The Strokes, St. Vincent, Mac Demarco, Alice Cooper, Portugal. The Man, Modest Mouse, and Pheobe Bridgers.

    Mountain Moonshine Festival

    Dawsonville, Georgia

    Event Dates: October 22, 2021 through October 24, 2021

    Celebrate Dawsonville’s longstanding embrace of moonshine with the 54th annual Mountain Moonshine Festival and Car Show. The downtown area will be filled with family-friendly fun and displays.

    Appalachian Brew, Stew & Que Festival

    Hiawassee, Georgia

    Event Date: October 23, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    This festival takes place at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee. Enjoy samples of craft beer from around the region and food from local restaurants. You can also shop from local arts and crafts vendors and enjoy live Appalachian music.

    Macon Beer Fest

    Macon, Georgia

    Event Date: October 23, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    Located in historic downtown Macon, the Macon Beer Fest features more than 100 varieties of craft beer and wine. There will be live music and a 1-mile Beer Run. The festival promotes education about the risks of prostate cancer.

    Savannah Pride

    Savannah, Georgia

    Event Dates: October 28, 2021 through October 30, 2021

    Celebrate Savannah Pride with a costume and drag Masquerade on Thursday, then the Savannah Pride Parade on Friday, culminating in the Savannah Pride Festival in Ellis Square on Friday and Saturday with music, performances, food, drinks, and more.

    Oktoberfest

    Helen, Georgia

    Helen’s 50th Annual Oktoberfest is this alpine town’s biggest celebration. You can enjoy traditional German music, food, drinks, and dancing all month long.
