Decomposed body found floating in Joliet pump house, police say
A decomposed body was found in a south suburban pump house on Tuesday, according to police.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watchA group of three men and a woman were "exploring" the US Steel property at 941 Collins Street around 6:47 p.m.They entered the pump house and found a body floating in four to five feet of water, Joliet police said.The group immediately called 911.Joliet Fire officials removed the body of a man, which was "in an advanced stage of decomposition."The man's identity and cause of death have not been released.Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

CHICAGO - Two women and a child were killed in a mass shooting Thursday morning in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. The shooting happened around 6:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, according to Chicago police. Two vehicles pulled up and several people got out and started shooting at a residence, police said.
Convicted felon sentenced again on gun charges in Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been sentenced to 55 months in prison, along with three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. 39-year-old Alan Collins was previously convicted of felony offenses in 2004 and 2005 in Cook County, along with two prior federal convictions for firearm possession in the Central Districts of Illinois in 2008 and 2014, according to the Department of Justice.
Thieves break into U.S. Postal Service trucks three times in 90 minutes on West and Northwest Sides
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men stole more than $500 worth of packages from mail trucks Monday afternoon on the West and Northwest Sides.Police said the pair robbed three United States Postal Service vehicles in less than 90 minutes in the Portage Park, Jefferson Park, and Austin neighborhoods:at 4:20 p.m. in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue,at 4:21 p.m. in the 6300 block of West Strong Avenue,at 5:45 p.m. in the 900 block of South Mayfield Avenue.In each case, police said the thieves parked a white SUV near the mail trucks.The men would then break the mail truck's window and take packages before driving away.Police had only vague descriptions of the thieves, who were both wearing hoodies and masks.Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Area Five Detectives at 312-746-7394.
