PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – News 13 brings you a segment focused on health and fitness on News 13 Midday every Wednesday called “Wellness Wednesday”.

This week, Personal Trainer, Traycee Green, from Pure Platinum was in the studio with News 13’s Chris Marchand demonstrating exercises for kids, specifically ages 7-12.

Kids need physical activity to build strength, coordination, and confidence.

For this age range, they need a little more structure than ages 2-6.

Here are some ideas Green suggests:

    • Enjoy it- it is less on the phone and gadgets.
    • Play a sport like basketball, soccer, or volleyball.
    • Focus on the fun- do a ninja course or play cops and robbers.
    • Use exercise as transportation such as walking or riding a bike.
    • Use competition as motivation
    • Use gifts that promote activity such as a baseball glove or a jump rope.
    • Plan vacations with new ways of exercise.

Watch the interview above to see the demonstrations.
