Scotty McCreery stopped his show in the middle of a song to stand up for someone he saw being assaulted during his recent performance at a state fair in Pueblo, Colorado.

A video obtained by local CBS affiliate KKTV 11 News on Monday, Aug. 26, shows the moment the 30-year-old country crooner allegedly witnessed a man in the crowd strike a woman during Saturday night's sold-out performance at the Big R Arena.

"He’s right here, he’s right here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir. Absolutely not. Get police, security. Is she OK? Get the heck out of here,” McCreery said as the crowd cheered.

"Ya'll let the cop know who hit the lady because that's absolutely unacceptable."

While the suspect likely thought they'd get at least five more minutes of listening to McCreery sing, the artist took the situation very seriously, holding any music until security escorted the suspect out of the arena.

"They got 'em? We good down there?" the American Idol alum asked, directing the question at the crowd of concertgoers standing in the vicinity of where the incident took place.

The "Damn Strait" singer then gave the crowd a thumbs-up and resumed playing.

In a statement shared with the outlet, Colorado State Fair officials said that they "can confirm that an incident took place at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show," adding that the security team hired by the fair "assisted with crowd control."

"This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further," the official note continued, asking concertgoers with footage of the altercation to share it with the fair's security team. "However, anyone who has video or other images of the incident is encouraged to share it with Colorado State Fair security at csf.security@state.co.us."

The suspect has not been publicly identified and when reporters reached out to the sheriff’s office, they were redirected to speak with the Colorado State Fair security team.
