ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A Penn Yan woman was accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend with a pocketknife.

Penn Yan police say 33-year-old Tiffany Jensen was involved in an argument with an ex-boyfriend when she pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the victim in the left side, puncturing his lung. The man also had a cut on his left forearm. Police believe the wound was a result of the man attempting to defend himself.

According to police, Jensen initially reported that she stabbed the victim accidentally when she tripped holding the pocketknife.

The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Officers recovered the knife at the scene and Jensen was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

Jensen was later transported to Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
