The Wyoming Valley Conference had 13 players selected to the Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association’s inaugural all-state teams

The selections were made by high school coaches. Each district compiled a list of nominations within all classifications and presented them to the all-state committee for review and selection.

Two WVC players earned first-team honors — Hazleton Area junior outfielder Chris Florentino in Class 6A and Wyoming Seminary freshman shortstop Leo Nockley at Class 3A.

MMI Prep landed three players on the Class A second team — senior pitchers Andrew Burns and John Drobnock and senior outfielder Zach Yenchko.

Three players were chosen to the Class 3A second team. Lake-Lehman had junior first baseman Sam Finarelli and junior outfielder Chris Sholtis chosen. Wyoming Seminary infielder Hayden Vought was also picked.

In Class 4A, Dallas junior second baseman Jack Leandri and Wyoming Area sophomore outfielder Jacob Snyder were selected to the second team.

Pittston Area junior shortstop/pitcher Silvio Giardina and Crestwood senior infielder Chaz Wright were second-team selections in Class 5A.

Wilkes-Barre Area junior pitcher/shortstop James Bottger earned second-team honors in Class 6A.

The WVC has no Class 2A schools.

The Lackawanna League had nine players chosen, with six earning first-team honors.
