Teen who left Pensacola hospital undergoes 6th surgery after Florida shark attack

Nearly two weeks after leaving a Pensacola hospital, Alabama teen Lulu Gribbin underwent her sixth surgery following a near-fatal shark attack in Walton County.

Gribbin, the 15-year-old who was on a mother-daughter beach vacation at Rosemary Beach, was one of three people attacked by a shark on June 7. She was then airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital where she had lifesaving amputation surgery.

Her mother, Ann, wrote on CaringBridge Monday that surgeons had to operate on Lulu Gribbin once more after discovering bacteria in her leg, noting it would be the sixth time she had surgery since the shark attack.
