    East Zaragoza Street is getting a makeover. Why, and how it will impact traffic.

    As part of an effort to continue improving visitors' experiences in Historic Pensacola , the University of West Florida Historic Trust has partnered with the city of Pensacola to make improvements to East Zaragoza Street in downtown Pensacola .

    The project is intended to improve safety and accessibility along East Zaragoza Street by making the sidewalks compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), implementing curb extensions on the south side of the road and installing bollards at both ends of the street.

    It will also narrow East Zaragoza Street to encourage drivers to travel slower and implement a raised crosswalk for pedestrians that will lead them directly into the Historic Village.

    Paid parking is coming to Palafox Street

    Free parking on Palafox Street in the heart of downtown Pensacola will end on Aug. 1.

    The city of Pensacola has already installed several parking kiosks on the iconic street ahead of the move.

    Charging for parking on Palafox was included in a list of recommended changes by the city's parking consultant last year.

    National coffee chain still trying to lay Pensacola roots. What to know about their plans.

    7-Brew , a national coffee chain with multiple stores open across Florida already, is still planning to build its first Pensacola location off of North Davis Highway.

    However, the project is now planned for the Home Depot plaza across the street from its original destination.

    Broussard's Bayou Grill is reopening in Pensacola this summer. Here's what's different.

    Pensacola's Broussard’s Bayou Grill is bringing all the Cajun classics back to 690 E. Heinberg St. this summer when the owners reopen their family's Louisiana-inspired restaurant that closed in 2022.

    Rebecca Broussard, wife of long-time Broussard's co-owner Cory Broussard, said that the restaurant will offer a condensed menu and a more fast-casual service format when they welcome customers back in late July or early August.

    'It's just heartbreaking': More than 100 ECSO personnel take part in search for missing boy

    Just three hours after initiating a missing persons search Tuesday morning, Escambia County Sheriff's Office personnel discovered the body of 4-year-old Darrel Beck.

    Escambia Sheriff Chip Simmons told the News Journal that law enforcement found Beck, who has autism and is non-verbal, deceased in one of the two ponds near the family's Barrineau Park School Road home.
