PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Tristan Trudel helped the Peoria Rivermen win the President’s Cup in the spring.

That may have helped him earn a shot at making an ECHL roster. Trudel has signed a tryout contract with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.

The 21-year-old former Peoria Youth Hockey Association standout made the Rivermen roster out of training camp last fall. He scored 13 goals in 36 regular season games and added three more in the playoffs as the Rivermen captured their second SPHL title in three seasons.

Also Monday, the Illinois Central College summer volleyball league continued.
