Topeka Zoo to Celebrate Giving Day on July 24th
The Topeka Zoo will host the public on July 24th for their 2024 giving day campaign called, “Love Your Zoo” during normal business hours. This giving-day campaign is an effort to raise $25,000 in 24 hours and will also thank donors. KHP investigating semi crash on on-ramp from southbound K-4 to westbound I-470 in Shawnee County
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a semi on the on-ramp from southbound K-4 to westbound I-470 in Shawnee County. Kansas Highway Patrol indicated in their crash logs that around 3:33 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, a 2017 Western Star Semi was taking the curve to enter westbound I-470 when the left side tires went off the highway and the driver overcorrected and overturned.

Man arrested in connection to aggravated burglary, stalking incident in southwest Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man was arrested in connection to an aggravated burglary and stalking incident in southwest Topeka, Kan. According to the Topeka Police Department officials, officers responded to a domestic disturbance just after 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15 in the 3100 block of SW 10th Ave. in Topeka. Upon arrival, it was reported that the individual was identified as Jermaine Poree, 38, of Topeka, and was in the area of a residence where he was reportedly not allowed. Poree fled the scene before the officers arrived.
