    Philadelphia weekend guide: Flag Day, balloons and pickles

    ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ Flagging this for you: Friday is Flag Day. The Betsy Ross House continues to celebrate this weekend with flag-raising ceremonies, flag-making workshops plus a courtyard concert and naturalization ceremony.


    ๐ŸŽˆ The Chester County Balloon Fiesta is blowing up the spot. Look for dozens of colorful hot-air balloons, a beer and wine garden, plus live music. Friday-Sunday. Tickets: $22 adults; $10 older children; free for kids 6 and under.

    • Need a last-minute Father's Day gift? Maybe dad's into high-flying excursions. Separate tickets required for balloon rides.

    ๐ŸŽ›๏ธ Thousands of people are expected to turn out for this year's Philly Carnival, a celebration of Caribbean culture that includes a parade, music and dancing. The festivities kick off Saturday in Fairmount Park from 10am-6pm. Tickets: $20; free for kids 12 and under.

    ๐Ÿš› You have a license to eat all you can at this free food truck festival at Linvilla Orchards in Media. Dozens of trucks take over the 300-acre family farm, offering everything from pizza to bacon on a stick.

    • There's a beer garden for adults to throw back cold ones while kids hitch a ride on a train, pony or hay ride. Saturday, 11am-5pm.

    ๐Ÿ˜Ž Summer, summer, summertime in South Philly means another annual B[l]ok Party! Bok Bar has everything your heart desires: food, drinks, music, dance performances, a bounce house and kids' activities. Saturday, noon-4pm.

    ๐Ÿฅ’ It's a big dill! Check out Phila-dill-phia, the world's largest pickle party, at Xfinity Live! Peter Piper is impressed by the variety with over 100 kinds of pickles to sample.

    • Plus, live bands, a pickle-eating contest, a pickleball court and other pickle-phernalia. Tickets: $24.99-$109.99, depending on pickle package. Saturday, 12-7pm.

    โšฝ Bicycle kick-on over to Subaru Park for the team's "Unity Night." They take on No. 1 Inter Miami on Saturday, 7:30pm. Tickets: $44+
