Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown was fired up over a recent "Hard Knocks" clip that showed the New York Giants discussing their decision to move on from Saquon Barkley.

In the video, Giants general manager Joe Schoen and some other front office members went back and forth about whether or not they should trade or place a franchise tag on Barkley.

Schoen ultimately made it clear that he did not want to pay $12 million to 27-year-old running back since he already invested a good chunk into quarterback Daniel Jones.

“You’re paying the guy $40 million. It’s not to hand the ball off to a $12 million back,” Schoen bluntly said.

When all was said and done, the Giants chose to take a back seat and let Barkley test the open market.

The Eagles were quick to sign him.

Brown made it clear that he was not a fan of how the Giants handled things with his new teammate and took to Twitter/X to express that, but has since deleted the post.

The Saquon video fired me up and it wasn’t even about me. I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure you get yours fam! @saquon

The good news is that Barkley is definitely getting paid a nice penny in Philly after signing a three-year, $37.75 million deal, with $26 million guaranteed.

Barkley rushed for 962 yards and six touchdowns while also hauling in 41 passes for 280 yards in his sixth and final season with the Giants last fall.

This year, Barkley is expected to exceed those numbers.

In fact, NFL Network's Adam Rank projects Barkley will log his best season yet, even better than his rookie 2018 season when he recorded 1,307 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl nod and Offensive Rookie of the Year.

That's a lot of pressure for Barkley to live up to, but it's not going to be impossible behind an offensive line that features some of the best blockers in the league.
