Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia police are currently investigating a crime ring targeting cargo trucks in the city.

The group has attempted 11 robberies since June 26th, with the latest incident being theft of $15,000 worth of frozen meat in Southwest Philadelphia after the refrigerated tractor-trailer was left unattended.

This robbery occurred around 4:30 a.m. on 63rd Street near Eastwick Avenue Tuesday morning, and the group of men left the scene with more than 40 crates of meat in a Dodge Durango and white SUV.

Philadelphia police have apprehended a few suspects from prior incidents, but believe there are many more thieves working in this ring and that the crime group is widespread.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department.
