While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni insisted his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts is "good" after it was reported that "there was some disconnect" between the two last season amid the club's collapse.

Hurts spoke with reporters later in the day and also attempted to pour cold water over any potential controversy.

"I think we're in a great place," Hurts said about Sirianni, as shared by Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports. "I think any time you have any frustration, any time you have any adversity you have to overcome, it's supposed to test you. I think it's a matter of being on the same page. If you're on the same page we maybe would have accomplished the things we would have. We didn't, but that's a learning experience."

Hurts signed a five-year contract extension reportedly worth up to $255M with $179.3M guaranteed in the spring of 2023. His leadership style come into question after what was once a 10-1 Philadelphia side lost six of its final seven games of the season, including a wild-card playoff matchup at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sirianni reportedly is on the hot seat following the events of the 2023 campaign, and some think the Eagles could explore moving on from Hurts next offseason depending on how this season plays out.

NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic noted that the relationship involving Hurts and Sirianni "is still a work in progress." Hurts gave no indication that was the case during Wednesday's media availability.

"I truly trust Mr. [Eagles owner Jeffrey] Lurie, trust Howie [Eagles general manager Howie Roseman], trust coach Sirianni to lead us in that right direction," Hurts said. "I know there are different roles in place, everybody has different responsibilities. There may be more demands from some than others, but I think to win championships, to be the team we wanna be, everyone has to buy into that role and everyone has to be fully committed to doing their part to help the team."

Hurts has Kellen Moore as his new offensive coordinator, while Sirianni reportedly will be in a "CEO-type role" throughout the 2024 season. Such a setup seemingly has everyone involved on the same page in July, but whether or not it will result in the Eagles making a second trip to the Super Bowl in three years shall be seen.
