PHILLIPS — It’s time to cheer on the best cowboys and cowgirls at the annual Price County Rodeo on July 5-6 at the Price County Fairgrounds. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association sanctioned events are part of the Great Lakes Circuit Small Rodeo tour.

“Come out and see what the best small rodeo of the Midwest has to offer,” said Alexis Schienebeck, director of Price County Rodeo.

The rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m. each night with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. There are eight events with different contestants each night, to include bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping, tie down roping, team roping, and steer wrestling, Schienebeck said.

There are also specialty acts throughout the evening including a clown to entertain between riders and also being featured this year is Hollywood dirt bike stuntman Kenny Bartram, who will perform his motocross riding and jumping skills during the rodeo performances. There will also be the first Mutton Bustin event for children ages 3 to 8 who will ride sheep out of a real bucking chute.

For two years running, Price County Rodeo has been named the Great Lakes Circuit Small Rodeo of the Year! The award comes in part from the participants themselves who take part in rodeos all over the Midwest.

The Price County Fairgrounds is located at N9130 Forest Lane, in Phillips. For ticket information, visit pricecountyrodeo.com.
