Phoenix Suns Owner Makes Opinion of Kevin Durant Drama Incredibly Clear

As the 2024 NBA Draft is set to begin in just a matter of hours, rumors have started to swirl. In the last day, we've seen one major trade take place, sending Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets to the New York Knicks, and there have been rumors of another blockbuster trade.

One that could see Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant on a new team.

Speculation as arisen that Durant could end up with the Houston Rockets, should the Suns choose to trade him on draft night and replenish their cupboard with draft picks that they have lost over the years.

Just hours before the draft begins, Suns majority owner Mat Ishbia took to social media to clear things up.

"Phoenix loves Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant loves Phoenix," Ishbia wrote on X. "We are competing for a championship this year because we have the team to do it. Gotta love draft night! Go Suns."

I guess that clears that up, doesn't it?

It would take several players and a lot of picks for any team to get Durant out of Phoenix, and even if there were a franchise like the Rockets that was willing to pay that price, the Suns would have to be willing trade partners.

It appears that's the biggest obstacle at this point. We'll see what the next few hours bring.
