Brittney Griner Reveals Key To Mercury’s WNBA Success

On Friday night, Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Los Angeles Sparks by a final score of 92-78. The Mercury are 5-2 since Griner's return from injury and 9-8 overall in the 2024 WNBA season.

Following the game, Griner spoke to all the Phoenix fans in attendance through the arena microphone. In her speech, she revealed the key to the Mercury's recent success.

"Working together, believing in each other, and just feeding off the energy every night," Griner said.

Griner recorded her first double-double of the season against the Sparks. The former Baylor Bears star tallied 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting, 11 rebounds and three assists. Diana Taurasi added 20 points, four rebounds, and six assists.

Griner, Taurasi, and the Mercury will have a day off before their battle with Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. The Fever have lost two straight games and are desperate for a win to get back in the playoffs.
